THE Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is mourning the loss of one of its own.
In a statement on Tuesday, Commissioner of Police (CoP) Allister Guevarro, on behalf of the TTPS and its Executive, extended their condolences to the family and friends of No. 7276 Police Khandane Bazzey.
PC Bazzey complained of feeling unwell while on mobile patrol in the Central Police Station district on Monday. He was immediately rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Port of Spain General Hospital, where he was treated.
Bazzey was warded in the Intensive Care Unit. Unfortunately, his condition worsened and he later passed away.
Extending his condolences, Guevarro said, “Today, the TTPS family mourns one of our own. We are grateful for his service to our nation as we are reminded that policing is a very demanding profession, physically, mentally and emotionally.”
“In mourning PC Bazzey, we also acknowledge the daily rigours our officers shoulder in service to Trinidad and Tobago,” he said, “We honour his life, stand with his family, and remain committed to caring for the men and women who protect and serve our nation.”
