TRINIDAD and Tobago will host the 40th edition of Exercise Tradewinds from April 26 to May 8, 2025, with more than 750 military and security personnel expected to participate from 26 countries across the Western Hemisphere.
In a media release, the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF), that the exercise was sponsored by United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) and cohosted by the TTDF.

Most of the operations will take place in and around the Chaguaramas Peninsula, with additional elements in East Trinidad.
The 2025 theme is “Strengthening Regional Security and Resilience: Unified and Prepared for the Future.”
The TTDF stated that the training will cover land, aviation, maritime, cyber operations, and interagency coordination under the Caribbean Task Force construct.
The key goals of the exercise include enhancing crisis response capacity in the region, increasing force readiness, countering malign influences, and improving integration across allied and partner forces, the release stated.
According to the TTD, Exercise Tradewinds remains a key platform for reinforcing regional security and demonstrates a shared commitment to maintaining stability in the face of evolving global threats.
