Trinidad and Tobago has finalised and signed two air service agreements, one with Panama and the other with Ghana.
This was confirmed by Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Eli Zakour at Thursday’s post cabinet press conference held at the Diplomatic Centre, St Anns.
He said these agreements added to the previously finalised air service agreement with the Dominican Republic, Rwanda, Brazil and Colombia.
In other updates, Zakour said the Online Certified Copy system would be launched next week.
Zakour said, “I am proud to say this system will be launched on Tuesday, where persons can apply and pay online for their certified copies and it will be delivered to TTConnect locations nationwide or at your home or office.”
Giving an update on the newly implemented government funded drivers’ rehabilitation programme for persons who lost their driver’s license under the former demerit system, Zakour said, “On August 18, 2025, we had our first class at the Caroni license office. 27 persons attended and this week launched in San Fernando and 50 persons attended.”
He said, “Very soon we will be starting classes in Port of Spain and Tobago.”
Lastly, Zakour addressed reports that the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Inspections Tyre Unit had been set to close.
He said remedial action had been taken and the Unit would remain open.
Zakour said, “I am happy to report the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation collaborated with the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism and this office is no longer closing.”
