THE entry requirements for Trinidad and Tobago remain the same even though the World Health Organization (WHO) is encouraging countries not to bar unvaccinated Covid-19 travellers.
Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh said he has taken note of WHO’s advisory but currently only vaccinated non-nationals are allowed to enter T&T.
He was speaking at the Ministry of Health’s virtual Covid-19 update on Saturday.
Deyalsingh said, “At this point in time, the entry requirements to enter Trinidad and Tobago do stand.”
However, he said, “We always pay attention to what is happening internationally, regionally because protocols change with time.”
He mentioned that even nationally, there were relaxed measures.
The minister has assured that as more situations evolve, the public health protocols will again continue to be assessed.
WHO is encouraging countries to put in place other protection measures instead of a complete ban for the unvaccinated.
