T&T Discuss Air Services Agreement with DR

THE GOVERNMENT is discussing an air services agreement that will be instrumental in establishing direct scheduled air services between Trinidad and Tobago and the Dominican Republic.
Further discussions were held on Friday with Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Eli Zakour and a delegation from the Dominican Republic comprising Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Trinidad and Tobago Raquel Jacobo Jaar and Counsellor-Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of the Dominican Republic Ana Suero Santana.

A media release from the ministry on Friday stated, “This agreement will also lay the groundwork for mutual benefits, including expanded trade opportunities, increased tourism flows and the facilitation of deeper cultural exchange between both nations.
“This initiative represents a cornerstone of the ministry’s strategy to transform and broaden Trinidad and Tobago’s aviation sector through strategic bilateral partnerships throughout the Caribbean region.”

Also attending the meeting were Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation Ian Ramdahin, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism Dr Colin Neil Gosine and Acting Senior Economist with the ministry Srisati Seeram.
