TRINIDAD and Tobago caseload of Covid-19 cases is about half the global figure.
This was revealed by Minster of Health Terrence Deyalsingh at a press conference on Thursday.
He said Trinidad and Tobago’s caseload was 64 cases per million persons of the population compared to the global figure of 122.5 persons per million.
Deyalsingh said as of Thursday morning there were 90 positive Covid-19 cases, from which 49 came from one source which is an outlier and was not considered for statistical reasons.
He said around March 10, 2020 the death toll was around 10,000, but there was a surge around this time, where there was an exponential growth deaths due to Covid-19.
Deyalsingh said, “We are seeing where the international supply chains have been affected globally and all countries are competing for scarce resources.”
