T&T Averages 4.3 Covid-19 Deaths Per Day for 2021

THE month of July records 230 deaths due to Covid-19 in Trinidad and Tobago.

According to Ministry of Health figures, only June and May had higher Covid-19 fatalities with 352 and 327 respectively. The death toll for July included 19 deaths in Tobago.

And at the end of July 1,077 deaths were recorded due to Covid-19 in total in T&T since the pandemic started last year. It means that 950 people died due to Covid-19 in the first seven months of 2021. In 2020, 127 Covid-19 deaths were reported in T&T.

That is an average of 4.3 people dying per day in 2021 for the first seven months of the year.

And for the first seven months of this year, T&T recorded 31,662 new Covid-19 cases.

May has the highest number of 13,085 with June second with 8,884 and July recording 6,018.

This means that T&T averaged 4,523 new Covid-19 cases per month from January to July. This amounts to 149 new cases reported per day for the 212 days of the year till the end of July.

  • Jan: 7 (412 cases)
  • Feb: 5 (152 cases)
  • Mar: 3 (313 cases)
  • Apr: 27 (2,798 cases)
  • May: 326 (13, 085)
  • Jun: 352 (8,884)
  • Jul: 230 (6,018 cases)
