THE Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism is looking forward to deepening its partnership with China and working together to drive sustainable economic growth and mutual prosperity.
On Tuesday, Trade Minister Satyakama Maharaj and Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry Dr Colin Neil Gosine met with a Chinese delegation at the ministry’s office in Port of Spain.
The Chinese delegation consisted of Charge d’Affaires Yang Han, outgoing Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago Zhou Lichun, incoming Counsellor Zhang Zhihong and Third Secretaries Hu Jiayu and Xu Shuyu.
The meeting featured cordial discussions on trade relations and investment opportunities, particularly in the areas of tourism and renewable energy, between both countries.
Both sides committed to fostering closer collaboration to strengthen the bilateral partnership between China and Trinidad and Tobago through dynamic economic and trade cooperation focused on achieving mutual development, the ministry stated.
On Monday, Maharaj and Dr Gosine met with High Commissioner for Canada to Trinidad and Tobago Michael Callan as well as India’s High Commissioner Dr Pradeep Rajpurohit.
