CITIZENS who plan on international travel should acquire or update their existing international immunization travels cards.
This according to the Tobago Division of Heath, Wellness and Family Development in a release on Sunday.
DHWFD stated that new international immunization travel cards will be issued at the Office of the County Medical Officer of Health on Wednesdays only, 9am to 12 noon.
Persons are required to bring a valid passport, proof of travel (ticket), immunization card and national ID card.
In addition, existing international immunization travel cards will be updated via a drop off – pick up method.
Persons using this method are asked to present the required documents highlighted above whereby, they can be dropped off on Monday to Fridays, from 9 am to 12 noon, which can be collected in two days’ time between 9am to 12 noon.
The DHWFD stated that, “It’s a World Health Organization (WHO)-approved document required for international travel to specific countries.
“Countries with specific viruses (yellow fever, malaria etc.), you are required to be vaccinated before entry.
“This international document is bonafide proof of your vaccination and is identified worldwide. Covid-19 is one of the viruses on that list that most countries will require persons to be vaccinated before entry.”
They have advised that a standardized, universally recognized card has to be used thus why the international card has to be used as opposed to the regular national one.
