VEHICLE owners are given an extended chance to become compliant with the new regulations concerning the tinting of windows and windscreens.
The Ministry of Works and Transport in a press release on Monday advised the public that the moratorium on the operationalisation of the new Windscreen and Window Tint Regulations, 2020 has been further extended to December 31, 2021.
The ministry stated, “This extension was deemed necessary due to the current Covid-19 public health regulations and restrictions, which limit the movement of persons and the closure of non-essential business operations, inclusive of tint shops and auto garages.”
The moratorium came into effect on Sunday.
The ministry added, “Given the current circumstances, it is anticipated that a further extension of the moratorium will permit owners of motor vehicles to become compliant with the provisions of the amended tint law before it is fully operationalised.”
