A suspended police officer is charged with breaching a protection order.
Police said Navendra Mangaroo, 37, was last attached to the Barataria Police Station.
He is expected to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate on Friday charged with breaching a protection order.
A protection order was granted to a woman on September 19, 2019. It is valid until November 2021.
According to a police report filed by the woman on May 13, 2021, she was at home when she and the accused were allegedly involved in a verbal and physical confrontation.
The woman was taken for medical treatment. Following further investigations into the report, Mangaroo was arrested and charged.
