A MAC-10 submachine gun, ammunition and narcotics have been seized in Morvant by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
On Monday officers of the Morvant Criminal Investigations Department, Morvant Charge Room, North Eastern Division Task Force, Emergency Response Patrol, and Community Police Department conducted an anti-crime exercise in the Chinapoo area, a media release from the TTPS stated.
Officers, acting on intelligence, searched an abandoned apartment building where they discovered a MAC-10 submachine gun with an extended magazine containing 24 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Additionally, nine packets of marijuana, weighing approximately 270 grams were discovered.
The TTPS stated all items were seized and taken to the Morvant Police Station, where enquiries are ongoing.
