AROUCA — Police officers from the North Central Division Task Force recovered a stolen vehicle shortly after a robbery in Arouca on Monday morning.
The incident occurred around 7 am when Police Constables Rochford and Slack responded to a report of a robbery involving a white Nissan Tiida.
The vehicle had been stolen from its owner on Cemetery Street in the Five Rivers area of Arouca.
Accompanied by the 70-year-old victim, the officers arrived at Cemetery Street and found the stolen vehicle abandoned on the roadway, with visible damage to its front left side.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of a 21-year-old suspect.
Both the suspect and the recovered vehicle were taken to the Arouca Police Station as further enquiries continue.
