HEADED by incumbent political leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar for the June 26 United National Congress (UNC) internal elections, the Star Team launches its campaign in Tunapuna on Thursday night.
Its members are vying for all 18 positions on the UNC executive.
They are:

- Vandana Mohit – Education Officer
- Saddam Hosein – Research Officer
- Don Sylvester – Election Officer
- Neil Gosine – Treasurer
- Ravi Ratiram – Party Organiser
- Nicholas Morris – International Affairs Officer
- Shanty Boodram – South Regional Coordinator
- Barry Padarath – Central Regional Coordinator
- Eli Zakour – North West Regional Coordinator
- Anil Roberts – North East Regional Coordinator
- Taharqa Obika – Tobago Regional Coordinator
Former health minister in a previous UNC regime, Dr Fuad Khan is challenging Kamla Persad-Bissessar for the political position.
And another former minister under Persad-Bissessar, Ramona Ramdial is vying for the post of election officer coming up against Don Sylvester of the Star Team.
In a release on Friday, the Star Team also announced its campaign dates:

- Wed 15 June: Pointe-a-Pierre/Tabaquite/San Fernando West/San Fernando East, Macaulay Junction;
- Fri 17 June: Chaguanas East/Chaguanas West/La Horquetta/Talparo, Pierre Road Recreation Ground;
- Sat 18 June: Cumuto/Manzanilla/Toco/Sangre Grande/Mayaro, Swaha Hindu College;
- Tue 21 June: Couva North/Couva South/Caroni Central, Couva South Hall; and
- Fri 24 June: Siparia/Fyzabad/Oropouche East/Oropouche West/Point Fortin/La Brea, Penal Junction
