Stamp Duty Exemptions now Online

APPLICATIONS for the two new e-services will now be submitted via DevelopTT- the online digital service of the Town and Country Planning Division of the Ministry of Planning and Development.

A press release by the ministry on Wednesday stated that the Stamp Duty Exemption Correspondence and Status of Land Correspondence will now only be accepted online effective April 30.

The North Regional Office of the Town and Country Planning Division will only accept online application submissions for Stamp Duty Exemption Correspondence and Status of Land Correspondence that fall within the T1 and T5 Planning Regions.

The services were up and running from February 8, the ministry stated. The system accepted applications from the T1 and T5 planning region.

Property and sites located within the North Regional area are inclusive of Diego Martin, Port-of- Spain and San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporations. T5 Region’s boundaries include: Chaguanas Borough Corporation; Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo Regional Corporation; Portion of Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation and a Portion of San Juan/ Laventille Regional Corporation.

The ministry stated that Stamp Duty Exemption Correspondence and Status of Land Correspondence are now paperless applications and letters of certification will also be received digitally.

The addition of these services aims to further enhance government’s goals of digitising public services making it easier to do business in Trinidad and Tobago, the ministry added.
