SPORTS facilities will operate as Safe Zones with an indoor capacity of 50% and outdoor of 75%.
In a release on Wednesday, Minister of Sport and Community Development Shamfa Cudjoe welcomed the new Public Health Regulations.
She said sport and community facilities would now be able to host events for fully vaccinated persons.
In reaffirming the Government’s commitment to protecting the health and wellbeing of its citizens.
She said, “We welcome the use of sports and community facilities which provides a hub for training, physical and recreational activities as well as community events.
“As we return to some form of normalcy, we look forward to an increase in the number of participants in sport, recreational and community activities.”
In addition, community facilities would operate at 75% capacity where children under age 12 would be allowed access to these safe zones once accompanied by vaccinated adults.
The ministry advised the national governing bodies and sport facilities that the Safe Zone Return to Play Application Process remain in effect.
