A SPECIALĀ prayer ceremony will be held at the Carapo Shiva Mandir on Thursday to cleanse the temple of the sins committed by the presence and consumption of beef at the sacred place.
The Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha (SDMS) Pandits Parishad issued a statement on Monday condemning the acts of vandalism, robbery and desecration of the holy site that took place over the weekend.
SDMSās legal advisor Dinesh Rambally had said even more heinous than the robbery was that corned beef was cooked and eaten in the temple and that special prayers were needed to be held for cleansing of the place of worship.
The SDMS stated, āIn an effort to restore purity and atonement for the events that transpired, the Pandits Parishad in collaboration with our parent body andĀ affiliateĀ arms, on the advice of ourĀ DharmacharyaĀ and Senior Pandits, guided by our scriptures will be undertaking the necessary religious ceremonies.ā
All pandits and devotees are invited to attend the prayers at 3 pm at the temple.
āAs a result of those shameless, heinous and demonic misdeeds, we would like to appeal to our Hindu brothers and sisters and by extension, all those who denounce this gross disrespect and blasphemy, to allow natural justice to prevail as we seek refuge at the feet of Bhagwan,ā the release stated.
