THE Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) says a critical cable line has been set on fire on Friday night causing service disruption to customers in parts of South Trinidad.

It occurred near the Cross Crossing Bridge in San Fernando where a major vandalism happened in August 2022 causing severe inconvenience to customers in south again.

TSTT noted, “It is deeply troubling that this is the second incident in approximately six months in this area.

In August 2022, vandals destroyed underground cables at the same site resulting in $1m in damage and extensive inconvenience to customers across the country, with concentrated impact in South Trinidad.”

“The company hopes that this matter is investigated thoroughly.

“TSTT assures its customers that its top priority at this time is service restoration. Regrettably, because of the extensive nature of the damage, restoration time cannot yet be determined.”
