Single Lane Traffic on Elmina Clarke-Allen Highway

RECENT slope slippage along the Connector Road to the Elmina Clarke-Allen Highway is the cause for single-lane traffic to be implemented.
The National Infrastructure Development Company Ltd (NIDCO) informed the public that traffic will be reduced temporarily to a single lane arrangement beginning from Wednesday.

NIDCO stated in a media release, “This temporary traffic arrangement is necessary to facilitate continuing efforts to stabalise a section of the roadway affected by the recent slope slippage. Temporary measures were implemented to prevent further deterioration of the affected area.
“Current works include further slope reinforcement, with permanent slope restoration and grading to follow in order to reduce future risks and to enhance the long-term safety of the corridor.”

The remediation works are expected to take approximately three weeks, NIDCO stated.
NIDCO also advised motorists to exercise caution and adhere to all safety protocols when using the vicinity of the construction works.
