SHARK attack victim Peter Smith, 64, is to be airlifted from Tobago to Miami within the next 24 hours.
This according to a release from Secretary of Health, Wellness and Social Protection of the Tobago House of Assembly Faith B.Yisrael.
She said that Smith remains critical but stable.
Smith was bitten by a bull shark about ten metres from shore while bathing on Courland Bay also called Turtle Beach on Friday.
Reports indicated that his left arm from his elbow and left thigh were severed in the attack. His limbs as well as his fingers were reattached during surgery at the Scarborough General Hospital.
He was vacationing with his wife and friends and was taking is last swim before he was to board his British Airways flight to England.
Beaches along the southwest coast of Tobago remain closed.
