REGISTRATION for next year’s Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) will start from next month.
This was stated by Kamini Bhagaloo, of the Ministry of Education Division of Educational Research and Evaluation, during the ministry’s press conference on Monday.
The registration period for public and private primary schools will take place from September 12 to November 11, 2022.
For private candidates, the registration would be from September 14 to October 14, 2022.
Bhagaloo said, “Please note that the students who are in Standard Five and their birthdate falls within the period 1st September, 2010 to August 31st, 2012 are eligible to sit the SEA 2023.”
She added, “Students born after August 31st, 2012 are not eligible.”
For 2023, no SEA results would be distributed by paper individually and will be available via the SEA online portal.
Bhagaloo also said the reviews for SEA 2022 were received from the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) and distributed to all candidates.
She said the transfer to secondary schools’ process was still ongoing, most of which would have been effective based on reviewed results. “Most parents would have been contacted and this process is ongoing for the next two weeks as the last of the requested transfers are approved,” Bhagaloo said.
