‘Scratch’ Bandits Run Out of Luck

TWO men who broke into a Lotto outlet at Nelson Street, Port of Spain, are caught by police.

Police said that the men were taken to the Besson Street Police Station after officers responded to a break in at the establishment around 4.15 am on Thursday.

When PC Gill and a party of officers arrived at the scene, they observed that the building had been broken into and entry was gained through the front gate of the establishment.

Officers searched the building and found two men hiding on the upper floor of the building.

When the officers searched the two men they found $6,000 worth of National Lotteries Control Board (NLCB) ‘Scratch’ tickets on their person.

The two suspects were arrested and taken to the Besson Street Police Station.

The owner of the business arrived around 6 am and the officers informed him that there was a break-in at his business place. When he made a check of his establishment, he discovered that two 32-inch televisions, one RCA Radio, one fan, three bottles of olive oil and $420 cash were missing.
