NINE hundred and eighty-nine Standard Five students are set to write the Secondary Entrance Assessment 2022 in Tobago on Thursday.
A release from the Division of Education, Research and Technology (DERT) on Thursday confirmed that 543 boys and 446 girls across 41 examination centres will attempt the national assessment.
Over the past few weeks, DERT has collaborated with the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and Urban Development, to ensure that all lighting and plumbing issues were fixed, a release stated.
DERT stated, “We have also ensured that cleaning supplies were accessible to all primary schools so that classrooms could be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised.
It stated, “All schools are also equipped with thermometers, liquid soap and hand sanitisers. In keeping with health protocols, classrooms were organised to facilitate the social distancing requirement.”
The Division also established its Education Health Unit headed by Dr Dane Joseph, to provide added medical support where necessary.
