TO date the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT) has vaccinated 13,000 essential personnel.
In a media release on Sunday, SATT stated that at the mass vaccination site at Centre Pointe Mall in Chaguanas, those vaccinated include supermarket employees, distribution and supplier staffers, farmers, market vendors, the elderly, infirmed and many more.
SATT stated, “The SATT has shown benevolence of vaccine diplomacy by leading the way forward in the belief that, for all whom vaccine acceptance is their mantra, we are pleased to open a pathway for vaccination.”
And SATT is inviting all sectors in Trinidad and Tobago to submit their vaccine requests to the organisation.
These sectors include: supermarket and retail, supply and distribution, nightclubs/restaurants/bars, food service sector, energy, construction, manufacturing, farmers/market vendors, religious groups, non governmental-organisations, public service and chambers and associations.
SATT stated, “The SATT believes that the distribution of this global public good by the administration of life saving injections is in the direct interest of all citizens of T&T.
“The SATT cares about the restoration of the national fabric and will play an incremental role in returning the nation to a fulcrum of stability. Please take this opportunity to do your part now and get vaccinated with our wonderful staff and expert medical team who are on hand to assist you and ensure your vaccination process is an enjoyable and peaceful one.”
SATT’s President Rajiv Diptee told AZPNews.com on Monday that while the piloted process has been exhausting, it was also rewarding.
“It is something that we feel very passionately about, something we are going to continue. It is something that we are very committed to and at the same time, it takes a great deal of time and effort and expense of which we are committing to the nation right now,” he said.
Companies or persons can submit their spreadsheets for immediate consideration to SATT including but not limited to name, contact number, email address, organisation or occupation in a tabulated format or spreadsheet.
Information can be emailed to vaccineinfo@satthq.com.
Persons will then receive an email to complete the registration process which is done completely online at which point the confirmation booking ensures that persons receive a vaccine appointment inclusive of day and time.
Second dose Sinopharm vaccines were given out this week and Diptee said from Saturday, first dose Sinopharm vaccines will resume.
