A Sangre Grande woman is expected to appear before a Master of the High Court after being charged with larceny in connection with the fraudulent online sale of a white Nissan Wingroad.

According to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) on Wednesday, Chinara Collingwood was formally charged on Tuesday and is scheduled to appear before the court on March 9. She has been granted bail in the sum of $30,000 with one surety.

Providing details of the crime, the TTPS stated: “Investigations were initiated after a report was made on September 2, 2024, by a male victim who stated that he responded to an online advertisement for the sale of a white Nissan Wingroad motor vehicle valued at $50,000.00. The advertisement offered an option of a $6,000.00 down payment with the balance payable in instalments.”

Police reports indicate the victim paid the deposit into a local bank account; however, the vehicle was never delivered, and his efforts to get a refund were unsuccessful.
