PRIME Minister Dr Keith Rowley has taken his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
He received his Sinopharm vaccine by manager of the Manager of the Expanded Immunization Programme Grace Sookchand at the Diego Martin Health Centre on Tuesday morning.
Rowley did not take the vaccine on April 6, the first day of the vaccination rollout programme in Trinidad and Tobago, since he had tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to the Ministry of Health guidelines, a person who had Covid-19 is allowed to get a vaccine three months after testing negative.
At a press conference on Saturday, Dr Rowley said he was going to consult his doctor and take the vaccine this week.
