THE wife of National Insurance Board (NIB) chairman Patrick Ferreira was assaulted and robbed on Wednesday.
Carla Ferreira, 56, had just left the bank and was returning home when two men got into her garage while she parking, broke the window glass, cuffed her in her face, grabbed her handbag and ran off.
The incident was captured on CCTV cameras at her Westmoorings home at around 12 noon and her distressed voice could be heard in the video crying out.
“Thanks everyone for your concern. I’m fine all things considered. I was clearly followed from the bank but was distracted on the phone as I would normally check my rear-view mirror. Never even completed a transaction as I was feeling lightheaded and left. Hope they enjoy the $3 that was in my handbag. God doh sleep,” was the message.
Police have been notified of the incident.
