TRINIDAD and Tobago Track and Field athlete Jeerem Richards won bronze in the 200 metres men race in the Wanda Diamond League in Doha, Qatar, on Friday.
Richards, a 28-year-old native of Point Fortin, clocked in 20.15 seconds behind gold medallist Noah Lyles in 19.72s and silver medallist Fred Kerley who crossed the line in 19.75s.
This was his first Diamond League podium finish, yet he was able to beat six-time Canadian Olympic medallist and reigning Olympic 200m champion Andre De Grasse, who came in fourth in 20.15s.
Richards recently got gold in the 400-meter at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, and silver in 200 meters in Bermuda in April.
