THE Regional Health Authorities (RHA’s) will be going back into the communities this weekend.
This was revealed by Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh at the Ministry of Health virtual press conference on Wednesday.
He said that the RHAs will be going into communities they deemed fit based on local knowledge they have acquired.
Deyalsingh said, “In their community settings, work settings and close to their shopping settings.
“So, each RHA has been tasked with that responsibility, Friday and Saturday but they will be communicating that with their local communities.”
The minister hoped for another 200 to 300 vaccines to be administered on Friday and Saturday.
“At this stage of the vaccination programme, any little bit is going to help.”
He added that 698,799 people were fully vaccinated which represented 49.9% of the population, if a 1.4 million marker was used.
Deyalsingh highlighted vaccination numbers through the mass vaccination sites.
“People accessing first shots, was varying now between 200 to 300 with an odd day of 400 when you add that to J&J, that averages 75 to 100.
“So you are getting 300 to 400 persons a day on their way to being vaccinated. People who are completing their vaccine regimen on a daily basis, now between 400 to 500.”
He said a total of 124,535 persons have accessed Covid-19 boosters with roughly 1,000 persons per day accessing vaccines.
