THIRTEEN people were killed, including four by police, in incidents from just before 6 am on Friday to 6 pm on Saturday.
Saturday 6 pm: Construction worker shot dead
Police said 35-year-old Curtis Harris, a construction worker, of Williamsville, was shot dead while in a Ford Ranger along the Solomon Hochoy, Highway in Debe.
Reports indicated that Harris was in the company of another man. They finished playing a cricket match at Gandhi Village and were stopped on the highway by a vehicle with blue flashing lights.
They were ordered to pull over when a man dressed in black alighted from the X-trail and fired several shots at Harris who was in the front passenger seat.
Officers of the Central Division Task Force later intercepted the vehicle near Chaguanas on the Uriah Butler Highway and arrested three suspects.
Saturday 12.15 pm: 4 killed at Damien Bay
FOUR men were fatally shot in a car leaving Damien’s Bay in Maracas on Saturday.
Two women who were also in the vehicle survived the attack.
Dead are Elijah Farrel, of Maraj Trace, Santa Cruz, Keron Pope, of Blackford Street, Santa Cruz, “CJ Dan”, of Santa Cruz, and a man identified as “Mincy Boy”.
Police said the four men were in a Nissan Tiida and were leaving Damien Bay around 12.15 pm when a vehicle pulled up near them and the occupants began opening fire.
The men were riddled with bullets about their bodies.
Corporal Singh is continuing investigations.
Saturday 12 noon: Man killed in land dispute in Arouca
Police have a man in custody for killing his relative in a land dispute at Spring Road, Fiver Rivers.
Police said it appeared that Evans Henry was beaten to death.
Saturday 6.45 am: Body found on a road in Sangre Grande
The bullet-riddled body of an unidentified man of African descent was found in a pool of blood at the corner of Sawmill Trace and Old Valencia Road.
Saturday 6 am: Police kill man while executing search warrant in Morvant
Police went to execute a search warrant on Troston “Ratty” Springer at his home at Second Caledonia, Morvant.
Reports indicated that he pointed a gun at police officers who opened fire at him.
Springer was pronounced dead on arrival at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
Saturday 3.20 am: 3 killed by police in POS
Reports indicated that six men were in a vehicle returning from a party in Cocorite when they were pursued by police.
The chase ended as the men crashed into the wall of Republic Bank at the corner of Chacon Street and Independence Square around 3.20 am on Saturday.
Some occupants of the vehicle began firing at the police who returned fire. The three men were killed have been identified as Fabien Richards, 22, his nephew Isaiah Williams, 17, both from St Barb’s in Laventille and Niko Williams, 21, of Beetham Gardens.
One other occupant was also shot is in critical condition at the Port of Spain General Hospital under police guard.
Two others escaped.
Friday 2.35 pm: Man killed walking home in Long Circular
Police said that Wade Parris, 34, was shot near to Community Lane in Long Circular. He was walking home when gunmen opened fire on him.
Friday 5.50 am: Body found in Grande
The body of a man with two names and multiple addresses was discovered at Ojoe Road around 5.50 am on Friday.
He was identified as Peter Walker or Moussa Walker of addresses in Claxton Bay, Marabella, Dow Village and Debe.
The body of the 34-year-old man was found at the side of the rod with multiple gunshot wounds.
A Hyundai Accent that was rented from San Fernando was found nearby.
