THE Roman Catholic Church has confirmed that a priest was injured in a car robbery on Saturday morning in Sangre Grande.
The Catholic Media Services Limited stated that Fr Maurice White was not shot, contrary to what was circulating on social media, but was receiving medical treatment.
It stated that White was in stable condition.
White is a resident at the St Francis RC Church in Sangre Grande.
