OVERWHELMED.
This was how Chutney Soca Queen Reshma Ramlal described her win at the Chutney Soca Monarch (CSM) finals on Sunday morning.
Ramlal in a collaboration with Shivonne Liesl-Anne Churche aka “Lil Bitts” was one of the crowd’s favourites from the start of the competition held at Skinner Park, San Fernando on Saturday night.
Speaking to reporters backstage after celebrating on stage briefly with Chutney Soca King Machel Montano, Ramlal said the win was a result of hard work, sleepless nights and a few mishaps along the way.
“I am overwhelmed. I am at a loss for words. It is something I worked for, for many, many years and tonight, I was blessed to have it,” she said.
Ramlal who hails from Chaguanas intends to keep promoting the culture and music worldwide.
CSM 2025 marked Ramlal’s fifth year making it to the finals of the competition and her first time as CSM Queen.
About her competitors she said, “We are all winners at the end of the day.”
Ramlal and Lil Bitts both spoke highly of each other proud of the success of their collaboration.
Lil Bitts who said she was always a lover of chutney music since a child, said it was actually rare to see collaborations with female artistes.
She said Ramlal, her family and her support team was just as supportive of Lil Bitts herself.

“I appreciate them immensely,” Lil Bitts said.
CSM 2025 was Lil Bitts first time at the CSM finals.
She said Ramlal was indeed deserving of the prestigious title having already won the 103 FM Chutney Road March title.
