PROMAN Trinidad has announced two leadership appointments with Anand Ragbir set to take up the position of Managing Director and Giselle Thompson named Deputy Managing Director.
The company stated in a press release on Wednesday that Ragbir, formerly Vice President of Commercial and Finance at Atlantic LNG, will assume his new role on May 26.
Thompson, who most recently served as Vice President of Corporate Operations at BP Trinidad and Tobago, will begin her duties on June 2.
Chief Executive Officer of Proman, David Cassidy, said he was pleased to welcome both executives to the organisation.
He said, “I’m delighted to welcome Anand and Giselle, two highly experienced and well-regarded local energy executives, into the Proman family. Trinidad and Tobago remains at the heart of our global operations and I am looking forward to working with Anand, Giselle and the senior leadership team as we look to drive the business here forward.”

Ragbir expressed admiration for Proman’s contribution to Trinidad and Tobago’s energy landscape and its role in the global energy transition.
He said, “I look forward to joining the Proman family and to continuing to apply my skills and expertise to add value to our energy sector and our wider economy.”
Thompson, who brings nearly 20 years of experience in the upstream energy sector, said she was eager to expand her knowledge of downstream operations.
“The energy industry remains core to Trinidad and Tobago’s economic prosperity, and Proman has enjoyed a long and successful history in this country. I look forward to joining the Proman family and to continuing to apply my skills and expertise to add value to our energy sector and our wider economy,” she said.
Proman Trinidad has been a central part of the company’s global operations for over 30 years, operating 14 petrochemical plants that produce methanol, ammonia, urea ammonium nitrate (UAN), and other gas-based products. Through its local operations, Proman has contributed an estimated US$12 billion to the Trinidad and Tobago economy. Between 2014 and 2024, the company invested US$9.5 million in corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Headquartered in Switzerland, Proman is the second-largest methanol producer in the world, with assets in Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, and Oman, and ongoing expansions in Mexico and the United Arab Emirates.
