Croatia 4 vs Canada 1

Andrej Kramaric scored a brace in the 36th and 70th minutes as Marko Livaja (44th) and Lovro Majer (90+4) completed a route of Canada. Canada had the perfect start as Alphonso Davies scored in the 2nd minute. It seemed another upset was on the cards at the Khalifa Stadium. It means the end of Canada after the group stage. It did show that Canada have improved greatly and cannot be taken lightly again.

Spain 1 vs Germany 1

In a must-win game for Germany, they managed a draw. It does not knock them out but it will be difficult to progress and they will need a big win in the last match to progress along with some help from the other teams. Spain were dominant in possession but Germany tried to take advantage of their opportunities. Germany must beat Costa Rica and hope Japan do not overcome Spain.

Alvaro Morata (62nd) gave Spain the lead and it also seemed the winner. In the 82nd Niclas Fulkrug equalised and gained a point for Germany.

Costa Rica 1 vs Japan 0

After the Spanish inquisition and the German defeat, it was expected that Japan would crush Costa Rica. It was not to be. Keysher Fuller scored in the 81st to shock Japan and secure all the points for Costa Rica. Costa Rica went totally defensive and it paid off as they were able to sneak a goal and claim the three points.
