Princes Town Man Charged for Murder of Housewife

A 53-year-old man from Princes Town was charged with the murder of housewife Karen Rauseo also 53.

The murder occurred on March 2.

Police reported on Monday that Robert Taylor, of Buen Intento Road, was scheduled to appear at the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The charge was laid by Constable Bernard on Saturday following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP)  Joan Honore-Paul.

It was reported that around 5.50 pm on March 2, officers met a man at an apartment on Buen Intento Road, Princes Town, who reported that earlier that day, around 5am, Rauseo was asleep as he left to go to work.

He observed her lying motionless on the kitchen floor when he returned around 5pm.

Officers at the scene also observed injuries on the victim’s face.

She was pronounced dead by the District Medical Officer who ordered that the body be removed from the scene. Enquiries revealed that Rauseo and Taylor had moved into the apartment the day before.

Later that day, around 8 pm, screaming was heard coming from the apartment. Evidence was gathered and Taylor was arrested at 9.50pm.
