THE price of cement is going to be increased to at least 15% five days before Christmas.
In a letter dated Monday and addressed to clients, TCL stated that the price adjustment was “only a marginal increase” and will take effect from December 20.
TCL stated, “We have been absorbing rising input costs for a long time and are now unable to continue to maintain our prices. The main attributing cost factors are natural gas, imported spares and other raw materials that go into manufacturing the highest quality cement brands which you represent.”
In protecting the interests of the vulnerable construction sector, TCL assured that the price adjustment was the marginal increase when compared to escalating operating expenses.
The product received from TCL was also environmentally friendly with the introduction of its eco- cement which will have an eight per cent increase to the current price.
TCL also assured that the quality of cement has not been compromised.
