PRESIDENT Paula-Mae Weekes is in quarantine.
And as such, there will no video Christmas message this year from her.
A press release from the Office of the President on Wednesday stated, “This is because, Her Excellency’s nonagenarian mother with whom she lives has contracted Covid and as is recommended, Her Excellency is in quarantine.”
The release also stated that Weekes mother is vaccinated with boosters against the virus and experienced only mild symptoms.
She is now symptom-free but still being monitored carefully.
Weekes also vaccinated and boosted, continued to test negative and was working from home during the quarantine period, the release stated.
