Police Seize 150 Marijuana Trees in Mason Hall

MORE than150 marijuana trees were seized by police officers in Tobago on Thursday.

Police said that a 40-year-old man was arrested during an anti-crime exercise conducted in Mason Hall.

Around 4 pm on Thursday, a party of officers attached to the Emergency Respond Patrol Unit (ERP) were on mobile patrol, when they observed a large quantity of growing plants resembling marijuana in an open area at a premise along Belmont Road, Mason Hall.

The officers conducted enquiries and met the man residing at the address. They then informed him that he exceeded the legal limit of having four growing plants on his property.

PC Adams and a party of officers attached to the Criminal Investigation Department visited the scene and conducted enquiries. When checked, the marijuana amounted to 156 trees. The marijuana trees were seized and the suspect arrested. PC Adams is continuing enquiries.
