POLLING stations across South Trinidad are operating without incident, with police reporting no cases of crime, intimidation or disruptions.

Speaking with reporters earlier today at San Fernando West Secondary School, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Wayne Mystar said, “I just spoke to the presiding officer and she indicated that everything was going good so far.”

Mystar, who is overseeing the Central, Southern and South Western divisions, stretching from Caroni to Point Fortin, said all polling stations are fully staffed by police officers.

“We have a lot of officers on the ground, I can tell you that all polling stations are being manned by police officers.”

Mystar also confirmed there were no reports of crime or voter intimidation despite concerns leading up to the election about possible disruptions.

“I can speak from my zone, there has been absolutely nothing as it relates to any reports or any person indicating that they are being intimidated or anything like that,” Mystar said.
