THREE men aged 20 to 25 years old were arrested shortly after reports of larceny of Telecommunication Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) cables in La Horquetta early Friday morning.
Reports stated that officers of the La Horquetta Police Station were alerted to three men observed cutting TSTT wires along the Tumpuna Road South, in the vicinity of the San Raphael RC Church, around 1.35 am, on Friday.
Upon seeing the officers, the men attempted to escape and ran into some nearby bushes. Assistance was sought from a TSTT response team and the officers subsequently observed the three men enter a white Kia van and drive off.
Police then gave chase and the vehicle was intercepted a short distance away and searched, in which three-bolt and cable cutters were found.
The suspects were said to be from Couva and Carapichaima have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Investigations are ongoing.
