A quantity of cannabis was seized by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force, Fort Chacon Base, in the Port of Spain Division this afternoon, during an anti-crime exercise.
The officers conducted the exercise around 12.40 pm, on Thursday during which they proceeded to Main Street, Beetham Gardens, where they observed a man dressed in black with a black bag in his possession.
On seeing the officers, the man ran off.
A search of the area where the man was seen standing was conducted which resulted in the officers finding a plastic bag containing 500 grammes of cannabis.
The same party of officers then proceeded to Sixth Street, where they found another bag with two brown packages, also containing 500 grammes of cannabis.
