POLICE have dispersed a religious group which gathered on the Harris Promenade in San Fernando on Sunday morning.
Police told the gathering that the State of Emergency and the Public Health Regulations prohibit more than five people in public.
The group complied and left.
And the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated that there were no large crowds in the Western Peninsula on Sunday contrary to video that was circulating on social media.
The voice on the video claimed there were breaches to the Public Health Regulations with persons gathering in excess of five but did not state when it was taken.
Police officers of the Carenage Police Station, with the assistance of Estate Police Constables of the Chaguaramas Development Authority (CDA) are patrolling the Western peninsula, the TTPS stated.
A release stated, “The TTPS reminds the public of the current State of Emergency and calls by the Government and Health Officials of only essential activities and the strict adherence to the Public Health Regulations.”
