THE People’s National Movement’s (PNM’s) National Woman’s League condemns a TikTok video for ridiculing a person for wearing a PNM T-Shirt.
In a release on Friday, it stated, “The PNM’s National Woman’s League expresses its deep concern and condemnation of recent actions on the platform of TikTok where a video surfaced in which a creator of the tiktok (with the account creator named ‘shakstar 296’) ridiculed an individual for wearing a People’s National Movement (PNM) T-shirt.”
It stated that such actions were unacceptable and constitute a direct violation of the fundamental principles enshrined in the Constitution.
The Woman’s League stated, “This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of fostering a culture of tolerance and inclusion. As citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, we must collectively work to uphold the dignity, rights, and freedoms of every individual, as outlined in our nation’s Constitution.
“As for this account creator, we pray for your mental well-being and want you to know that we are NOT afraid of wearing our PNM T-Shirts. We will continue to wear our PNM T-shirts with pride!
“Our nation’s strength lies in its ability to celebrate diversity and uphold the principles of equality and justice.”
