PRIME Minster Dr Keith Rowley reveals a kitchen garden at his official residence in St Ann’s. He said he started creating it since coming into office in 2015.

In a post on Facebook that included a video and photos, Rowley said, “I come here when I have a little time, sometimes late in the evening or very early in the morning. I do a lot of focused thinking when I am tilling the soil and while I am planting.”

In the video he said, “I want to encourage myself others, grow what you eat and eat what you grow.”

He said there was a satisfaction that comes with harvesting the crops he plants.

Rowley said he does not use any chemical sprays so he eats the fruits off the trees.

Crops include kale, ginger, lettuce, peppers, melongene, ochro, small leaf thyme, parsley, shado beni, pachoy.

He advises people who don’t have space to use a bucket and encouraged people in communities to come together and make a garden.

Rowley said he suppresses the weeds with shavings from a sawmill.
