WITH another surge in Covid-19 cases in Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is chairing a Covid-19 response meeting.
He is hosting it virtually from the Prime Minister’s official residence in Blenheim in Tobago, a release from his office stated on Thursday morning.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health reported 223 new cases of the coronavirus in T&T. The number of people infected with Covid-19 also crossed 10,000 with 168 deaths recorded.
Dr Rowley received a negative test this week after he was tested positive with the Covid-19 in early April.
On Wednesday, Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh said 42,082 AstraZenca vaccines were administered in T&T in the first phase of vaccinations which should end this week.
A number of measures Covid-19 protocols have been recently roll backed with public gatherings reduced to no more than five people, in-house dining prohibited and beaches closed. Last week Wednesday after another Covid-19 response meeting, the rollback measures were announced.
Dr Rowley will host a media conference at 2.30pm today (Thursday April 29) at the Victor E Bruce Complex, Division of Finance and the Economy, in Tobago.
