AFTER the polls, it is now time to set aside individual ambitions and embrace collective strength in the People’s National Movement (PNM).
PNM’s Political Leader-Elect Pennelope Beckles posted on social media on Sunday night that the PNM’s casting of the ballot for its internal election marked a pivotal moment for the party.
She said, “We await the election results and the leadership that will guide us forward with vision and resilience. This campaign has exemplified the diverse voices within our party, each sharing their hopes for a brighter future.
“Now is the time to reconvene as One People, to set aside individual ambitions and embrace collective strength. Our triumph lies in our unity, for it is together that we can transform challenges into opportunity and forge a future rooted in our shared values. Over fifty members committed themselves wholeheartedly, demonstrating our party’s vitality and desire for renewal.”
Beckles thanked all who participated in the voting process and she pledged to work closely with the new leadership to rebuild, reconnect, and reinforce the ideals that define the PNM.
Voting for the PNM internal elections took place at polling stations in all 41 constituencies throughout Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm.
The results will be announced at the PNM’s Special Convention on June 29.
Beckles leads the One PNM slate against the People’s Champion, led by attorney Farai Hove Masaisai.
