The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has authorised light motor vehicles to temporarily use the westbound lane of the Priority Bus Route (PBR) today, September 8, between 8 am and 4 pm.

The exemption applies only to the stretch from Morvant Junction to Port of Spain, and is strictly for light vehicles, such as cars and SUVs. Heavy vehicles, buses, and non-motorised transport remain barred from the route.

Today is the first day of the school term, and works on the Beetham Highway before the Lighthouse on the westbound lane added to increased traffic heading into Port of Spain, motorists said.
