‘THE Brechin Castle Solar Project, a joint initiative with Shell and the National Gas Company (NGC) was one of the items discussed with bpTT and Minister of Public Utilities Barry Padarath.
The Brechin Castle Solar Project is expected to become operational later this year.

Padarath met with bpTT President David Campbell and Vice President of Communications and External Affairs Ryan Chaitram last week at the ministry’s head office in St Clair, Port of Spain.
The meeting focused on the company’s ongoing and upcoming initiatives in the energy sector a media release from the ministry on Monday stated.
BpTT also provided updates on its future gas developments and its role in deepwater exploration alongside key industry partners.
In addition to its energy investments, bpTT shared information on its corporate social responsibility programmes, which focus on education, sport, and entrepreneurship, particularly in the communities of Mayaro, Guayaguayare, and Rio Claro, the release stated.
Padarath welcomed the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with the company and reaffirmed the ministry’s support for initiatives that contribute to national development and community well-being.
Also last Thursday, Padarath met with the executive management of the Solid Waste Management Company Limited (SWMCOL).
The meeting served as an initial platform for direct engagement with SWMCOL’s management team, focusing on exploring key challenges and identifying potential areas for growth and improvement, another media release stated.
Padarath focused on the importance of fostering collaboration with key ministries and agencies through strategic partnerships and cross-sectoral initiatives, with the objective of enhancing efficiency and promoting sustainability within the national waste management sector.
