THERE are only three patients who have tested positive for Covid-19 in Trinidad and Tobago at hospital .
All three are at the Couva Medical and Multi-Training Facility in a stable condition, according to the Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram at the virtual news conference on Monday morning.
He said there were now nine patients at the step down facility at the Home of Football in Couva and none at the Caura Hospital.
Dr Parasram said all the patients have also been discharged from the Brooklyn facility at Sangre Grande.
He said 12 medical professionals who finished their tours at the hospitals were now at the National Academy for the Performing Arts.
Dr Parasram said the 33 nationals who returned from Barbados were swabbed at the Tacarigua convalescent centre where they are staying. He said the group will finish their 14 days of quarantine on Tuesday and if their tests return negative, they will be discharged.
He said the 69 TT Nationals who returned from Suriname on Friday were swabbed and officials were awaiting results from this group. They remain in quarantine at the Debe Campus.
Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh said 2,007 samples have been tested by the Caribbean Public Health Facility.
He said 1,675 people have been tested with 232 being given repeated tests.
Deyalsingh said 423 people have taken part in the community testing and all have returned negative.
