GOVERNMENT has launched its online birth registration system.
On Friday, Minister of Health Dr Lackram Bodoe along with Minister in the Ministry Dr Rishad Seecheran and Minister of Legal Affairs Saddam Hosein all attended the launch at the San Fernando General Hospital.
In his address, Dr Bodoe emphasised that the new online system allows families across Trinidad and Tobago to register births quickly, securely and conveniently, reducing paperwork, minimising delays and ensuring every child’s identity was protected from the very start.
The highlight of the launch was the live demonstration showing the first babies born at the hospital being successfully registered and receiving their birth certificates.
The milestone forms part of the national drive toward e-Government services, where technology and the public sector work together to improve lives, Dr Seecheran stated in a Facebook post.

Dr Bodoe also congratulated the mothers of the New Year’s babies at the South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA), presenting them with tokens to mark the special occasion.
Also in attendance were SWRHA Chairman Anil Gosine, acting Chief Executive Officer Robin Sinanan and executive teams from the Ministry of Legal Affairs and the SWRHA.
